From time to time defining moments pop up and remind me that perhaps, just maybe, my family is not normal.

Return from work late. Shed Cootie Clothing. Shower. Happily climb into bed with Kindle. Begin to play Jewels. Get immense satisfication when colorful jewels click into place as three-in-a-row jewels disappear. New jewels appear with each click. Very addictive. Very satisfying. Mindless pleasure.

Slide . . . Whoop! Whoop!. . . SHAZZAM! . . . clickclickclickclick!

Satisfaction spreads through me like a smile.

Sleepy Husband growls "Turn the light out! Why are you playing video games in the middle of the night?!"

"HEY! I just had a dead man's TOOTH caught in the tread of my boot! I need to DE-COM-PRESS, thank you!"

"Oh . . . ok."  He rolls over and goes back sleep.

As the jewels click into place, I have that little niggling doubt that we might not be normal.

Shrug it off.

Slide . . . Whoop! Whoop! Whoop! . . . clickclickclickclick!  SHAZZAM!

used to work in elder protective services. had a coworker once who asked the supervisor if she wanted time to "decompose" before reviewing the most recent report - of course he meant 'decompress' but we all howled, and to this day i remember the incident and smile a bit. So, keep on 'decompressing'with those shiny sparkly bits on the video screen!

Ahhh the English language is a wonderful thing when miss used. What a howler. Isn't there a name for the miss used words. Malapropism??
