Farm Fresh Blog

Since the Troll was just a wee pup he's been able to entertain himself. He crawls into his own little world with such wild enthusiasm that just watching him play brightens my day. Perhaps we could all learn something from this little dog. Trace makes his own fun. He doesn't require special toys. Trace creates his own toys - his own fun.

He played and he played and he played.  He raced up and down the fence line with his toy - not parading it for me or Cowboy, or anyone else, just racing with a glove, or perhaps it was a rabbit, or a squirrel, or maybe it was the red bird that poops on Momma's truck mirrors.  From time to time he would stop, flip it in the air, and catch it in moves that would make a Harlem Globetrotter proud.

I stood in the morning mist and watched Trace play and I thought "the world be such a better place if, like this little dog, we embraced the things that God gave us, the hand we were dealt, confident that it was really all we needed to be happy.

So true! I don't believe I've ever commented before, but I've been reading for quite some time now and wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog. I'm a total city girl in California, but your farm life fascinates me.

Thank you, Vanessa! ;) I'm glad Trace entertains you as much as he entertains me. At the moment I'm battling a computer virus. Just when I think I'm rid of it the darned thing rises like a Phoenix from the ashes! This puts a serious crimp in my blogging. Argh!

I have been reading your blog for awhile too. I read it to my mom over the phone sometimes and when things get intense with my therapist I take a break to read one of your items together or watch a border collie video to cheer me up. I really love anything with border collies in particular.

Wow! You guys are amazing. I had no idea. I'm so humbled. My little troll has no idea how many people actually enjoy his little escapades!

Elissa, have you seen Page the Border Collie in the YouTube videos? She is one of my favorites. Look for anything by "Snugglie puppy" and that's Page. She also has a Facebook page. I'm a big fan of Page. She always makes me smile.

I've seen Paige. I also like Dazzle and Nana, as well as the Mist videos and Andy Nickless' Border Collie Sheepdogs: Off Duty
