Retired K9 Officer Aja lost her battle with cancer today. We shall always be thankful that Aja was a part of our lives. As befitting an officer, Aja was wrapped in a flag and buried under the pecan tree in the pasture that faces the mountain. Her happy, goofy face will now brighten Heaven. Here's a salute to K9 Officer Aja.

Oh no! Aja was part of your lives (and ours) for such a short time. I am glad you had that time with her with many happy memories. Thanks for sharing her with us.

I don't doubt that Aja had cancer much of the time we had her. I've heard that Inflammatory Bowel Sydndrome can lead to cancer of the bowels. I guess that happened in her case. I'm just glad the end of her life was a happy and relaxing time.

So easy to love, so hard to lose. I am sorry you had to go through this and that she could not be with you longer. I like that you faced her to the mountain. Fitting.

A life well lived and over the bridge to a new home with so many others. Grand looking dog and a lovely place to rest.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We recently lost our senior Australian Shepherd to hemangiosarcoma. Helps to know when they pass that they were loved and they loved us unconditionally.

So sorry to read about Aja's passing. She was lucky to be able to work with and retire with such a wonderful family!

Oh Deb! I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Even when it's expected, it's always so hard to lose them.

I'm so sorry about Aja. I too just lost one of my beautiful dogs to cancer. "Rosie" was my red and white Border Collie/Aussie who was just 4 years old. She was in the 1st litter of pups my dogs produced. I'm still reeling with her loss as I'm sure you are with Aja. <<<HUGS>>

Just found out about Aja. My heart goes out to you on her behalf. We just lost our beloved German Shepherd boy on May 12th.
