Check out these ears!

Trace looks more like Dumbo the Flying Elephant than a Border Collie!

  Eeegaads!

I'm sure this really convinces the naysayers that Trace is NOT a Border Collie.  After all, Border Collies should look like this:

                                       Right?

Wrong!

I give you Exhibits A & B:

A Tale (Tail) of Two Puppies

 Ruby

Trace

They are young Jedi Warriors . . . they are Border Collie!

While other breeds go for a walk, our young Jedi Warriors go for a stalk . . .

May the Force be with them!

And after they stalk everything that moves in the pasture, they finally collapse . . . and the Universe takes a moment to recover.

My goodness, Ruby looks like a grown up girl already. I wonder if Trace looks less BC to some, because the white on his face/head isn't as pronounced? Compare his white to Lily and Ruby---it elongates their faces (BC characteristic) and his just doesn't "seem" as long.

It's possible. I think it's the color first, and then the floppy ears. Ruby has one ear that stands up some. He is s-l-o-w-l-y growing into those ears!

Yes, color first. If you'd shown me that last picture and I didn't know any better, I'd think he was a Brittany pup. His ears are missing that BC point at the tip. No matter. He's BC through and through. :)
